The Eagle has landed, Brandmeier back at Loop on Oct. 24th

Several unreliable sources have confirmed that the Eagle has landed, I repeat, the Eagle HAS landed. An announcement is expected the week of Oct. 10, 2005. Jonathon Brandmeier has come to terms with Emmis Communications and Infinity Broadcasting, according to these very unreliable sources the multi-year deal is one of the most lucrative in the history of Chicago radio. If this turns out to be true I have to give my sources a years supply of Wheel of Meat prizes, while if they are wrong they will have to spend three days with Cumswalla.

Brandmeier was the king of Chicago radio in the 1980' s and early '90's. His longtime sidekick Buzz Kilman has been lounging with a large whale for a bit now, and hopefully will dump the Fat One and return to the Showgram.

UPDATE OCTOBER 7, 2005: According to a Robert Feder column appearing today in the Chicago Sun-Times, Brandmeier is slated to be back on the air on Oct. 27, 2005 as soon as he signs on the dotted line. The deal is indeed multi-year, spanning a little over three years. Feder also claims the announcement is to come "as early as Monday", which I nailed right on the head. It would appear that my sources got it pretty close on this one (three days off on the start date), so I now owe them a years supply of raccoon meat and headcheese, along with coto salami, and pig snouts.
